Thursday Art Date: Colourful June - Silver and Gold!

Welcome my Friends, to Thursday's Art Date (posted on Wednesdays)!! 😊😊 Today our theme is Silver and Gold! Following the prompt is optional! Please feel free to share any of your art, we would love to see it! ☺

Bugs Bunny is showing off his silvery glitter today! Don't worry! The braces are just for show, he wouldn't be the same without those buck teeth! 😊

Here is Henery Hawk from the Looney Tunes for Nicole's Friday Face-Off and Gillena's Art For Fun Friday! Why not share more of your creativity there?

On the video front:

For Rain Frances Art, I'm sharing my How To Draw A Horse Silhouette video.

I also have Henery Hawk uploaded as a #Shorts video (that just means it's vertically filmed and under a minute!)

For Rain Frances Art For Kids, here is How To Paint Popsicles (with watercolours)! This was a lot of fun!

And for Rain's Kitchen and Garden, I'm sharing a few videos. The first is How To Make Cold Brewed Coffee...

How To Build A Lettuce Box & An Herb Box...

And I'm proud to say that My Summer Garden Is (finally!) All Planted!!! I'm so happy, and so exhausted! It took 2 months from starting the seeds indoors to finally having everything planted. Now I can slightly relax while I watch my garden grow!

This is how Raven sleeps. Look at those teeth!

If you want to hear Jack's Hound Dog Bark, I filmed him while we were walking - we saw a deer and he was very vocal about it!!

I had SO many eggs to use up this week! We pretty much only ate breakfasts as our meals! I made Belgian Waffles and Pancakes. I want to thank my friend Gigi again for posting about her waffle maker a few years back, that gave me the idea to buy one too! I love it!

I also made a Broccoli Quiche.

And...a few scrambled egg dishes with toast. I mixed the egg whites with onions, tomatoes and mushrooms; and the eggs with tomatoes and chives! Of course each dish had some melty Cheddar cheese mixed in!

That's all for now folks! Please check out the link widget below for more artistic creations! See you soon!!! 💗 💗

Thursday Art Date: Colourful June - Purple!

Welcome my Friends, to Thursday's Art Date (posted on Wednesdays)!! 😊😊 Today our theme is Purple! Following the prompt is optional! Please feel free to share any of your art, we would love to see it!

Bugs Bunny is fascinated by his crop of purple carrots! Have you ever eaten one?

Here is my charcoal horse silhouette for Nicole's Friday Face-Off and Gillena's Art For Fun Friday! Why not share more of your creativity there? I filmed myself for the horse silhouette drawing lesson and it's sitting in the "editing" pile! Life is getting very busy again! Actually I don't know that it got un-busy!

Here are some watercolour balloons! I made sure to include some purple ones in there!

On the video front:

For Rain Frances Art, I have another Art Therapy video: How To Paint Balloons With Watercolour Paints!

For Rain Frances Art For Kids, here is How To Draw A Turtle!

And for Rain's Kitchen and Garden, I'm sharing a video on How I Hill My Potatoes!

The dogs are doing great! We're meeting Jeff tomorrow morning for Raven's new brace!

The garden is really coming along, though I haven't even finished transplanting my tomatoes or beets yet! I'll be out there this week making another raised bed. Here are some early strawberries, I do hope I can harvest these before the squirrels get to them this year!

On the food front, we've been eating a lot of Mexican style dinners. Here are breakfast burritos: a tortilla filled with fried onions and potatoes, some salsa, eggs, some Cheddar cheese and a wee sprinkling of cilantro. Yum!

Who can resist pizza? Not me! This is my Pour In The Pan Pizza!!

Thursday Art Date: Colourful June - Red!

Welcome my Friends, to Thursday's Art Date (posted on Wednesdays)!! 😊😊 Today our theme is Red! Following the prompt is optional! Please feel free to share any of your art, we would love to see it!

Daffy has red steam coming out of his ears...he's such a hot head! I bet this had everything to do with Bugs Bunny's antics!

Here's a 3D face for  Nicole's Friday Face-Off . I'll also be joining in with Gillena's Art For Fun Friday! Why not share more of your creativity there?

Here are some watercolour cherries.

On the video front, I have five to share:

For Rain Frances Art, I have my 3D Face Doodle.

I also recorded another Art Therapy Video, painting my watercolour cherries.

For Rain Frances Art For Kids, I posted a video on How To Draw Ice Cream!

For Rain's Kitchen and Garden, I have a Garden Update to share...

As well as a quick video to show you a Wild Turkey Sighting in the blueberry fields!

I had to travel to Nova Scotia last week. Raven's brace was not fitting properly. The company that made the brace is called K9 Orthotics. The owner is Jeff, who has a prosthetic leg himself. He has devoted his life to helping dogs who need orthotics, braces and prosthetics...he is truly an amazing person. He is remaking the brace at no cost to us and he'll be passing by New Brunswick next week to fit Raven with her new brace so that another trip to Nova Scotia isn't needed!

I decided to make a mini vacation out of my trip and I brought the dogs with me to Burntcoat Head Park - it was very much like the Hopewell Rocks here in New Brunswick!

Raven LOVES the water, she was having so much fun! Jack prefers not to get his feet wet! Raven is limping a little so I have to make sure I limit her walking. I can't wait to get that brace back on her!

Before coming home, I stopped by a Dog Wash and the furries were treated to a "spa day". Pet Valu in Truro, Nova Scotia did the honours for free. All they asked was a donation to the local dog shelter, which of course, wasn't an issue for me!

It's strawberry season! I got some fresh local strawberries and made a nice strawberry shortcake type of dessert. The sponge cake is store bought and I whipped up some cream with a little Amaretto liqueur, delicious!

I missed visiting everyone last week, but I will be slowly catching up! I hope you're all well and healthy and happy my friends!!!♥♥

Thursday Art Date: Colourful June - Yellow!

Welcome my Friends, to Thursday's Art Date (posted on Wednesdays)!! 😊😊 Today our theme is Yellow!! Following the prompt is optional! Please feel free to share any of your art, we would love to see it!

Tweety Bird is looking very cute dressed as a daisy!

Just a note on comments! Blogger sometimes hides comments in Spam. If you don't specifically look for them, you won't find them. The other day I found comments in my Spam folder from people who've been commenting on my blog for years.

I did a quick doodle of a dinosaur face for Nicole's Friday Face-Off on Friday. I'll also be joining in with Gillena's Art For Fun Friday! Why not share more of your creativity there?

I recorded myself drawing the dinosaur if you're interested!

Here are some watercolor lemons! 🍋🍋

It's been a rough week for me...Raven's brace is giving her a friction sore...I may have to travel to Nova Scotia to the orthotics company that made her brace to have her properly fitted. I had to do monthly shopping too and that wore me out! I'm also trying to arrange insulating my basement...too much contact with people drains my energy!

I decided to do a little Art Therapy video with the lemons for my YouTube channel, Rain Frances Art, it was SO relaxing!

On Rain Frances Art For Kids, I'm sharing a really fun video, Easy Trick Art For Kids! I've done this kind of thing before, and I thought it would be a fun art project for kids of any age!

I had a nice Greek dinner last week! When I find fresh pita bread, we eat that right away! We had tzaziki sauce, a tomato/and mushroom mix, and some Greek Potatoes!

I also made some Slow Cooked Vegetarian Chili - very good with a little shredded Cheddar and some sour cream!  You may notice some sliced baguette on my plate...

I got around to editing and uploading my How To Make Homebaked French Baguettes video for Rain's Kitchen and Garden YouTube Channel!

I just wanted to promote one of my friend's blogs. Leigh, as many of us know her on her homesteading blog, 5 Acres and a Dream, also has a photography blog! She has a series called A Year With My Camera, here's what Leigh says about it:

"A Year With My Camera is a beginners photography course, designed to teach beginners how to use their camera's manual controls to become better photographers."

It's a great course for beginners, please check it out!

Thursday Art Date: Colourful June - Pink! 🐶 All About Raven!! 🐶

Welcome my Friends, to Thursday's Art Date (posted on Wednesdays)!! 😊😊 Today our theme is PINK! I decided to draw Baby Bugs Bunny today with rosy pink cheeks! I think I captured his innocence before he decided to become a total stinker! I'm joining in with Nicole's FFO (Friday Face-Off) post! I'll also be joining Gillena's Art For Fun Friday post!

Following the prompt is optional! Please feel free to share any of your art, we would love to see it! 😊

My friends, meet Raven! She is a 5-year old Mountain Dog/Lab mix as far as we all can figure. Bernese or Swiss Mountain Dog? We think Swiss. Mixed with a Black Lab or a Golden Retriever...she is so sweet, and very timid.

She is the newest addition to our little fur family! I saw Raven's adoption ad in April and applied to adopt her. She'd already been "spoken for" and I was unbelievably  a little crushed. She reminded me SO MUCH of my late Marlene and in my heart I knew she was meant for us.

Raven has an old leg injury and has developed osteoarthritis in her left hind leg. She needed a brace to help her walk, so the shelter kept her until they could raise the funds to fit her with the brace. She was at the shelter for 4 months.

She went for leg castings at the beginning of May. She received her brace two weeks ago. I've been following her story on FB and calling once in a while to see how she was doing because I truly felt such a connection with her.

On May 25th I got a call from the shelter asking if I was still interested. Apparently the lady who was going to adopt her opted out - possibly from the knowledge that Raven needed so much care...and that there was a chance her good leg would also fail her one day and she'd need a brace for her right leg. Of course, I accepted!

Jack and I drove the 4 hours to the Grand Falls NB shelter to pick her up and they got along amazingly! Getting the brace on was a challenge at first, but now I've got it down pat! Raven loves to walk and I'm so thankful the shelter was able to raise the funds to help her!

She's been home with us now for 5 days and it's like she was always here! We are thrilled! Here's a little video of her walking with Jack!

And as you can imagine, it's been all about Raven for the last week! But I did find time to sneak in some art, videos and food!

On the way to the shelter, just a few minutes from home, there was a moose on the road. It was the size of a horse but didn't have antlers. It looked like a female.

I'm sharing my latest gardening video where I am transplanting my seedlings and building hoop houses.

I also have a new video for my Rain Frances Art For Kids YouTube Channel, How To Draw A Hamburger!

I've harvested all of the asparagus I can for the season, and the latest dish is an Asparagus and Fontina Tart. This is very good with Homemade Puff Pastry! (Cheddar works well for this too!)

Speaking of pastry, I made some Homemade Croissants (also called crescent rolls or butterhorns!). These are very easy to make, they just take a commitment of time. They certainly don't stick around long!

Fresh tomato pasta with homemade garlic bread. I used my No Knead Bread and added Parmesan cheese and broiled, then sprinkled with fresh parsley. Very delicious! I'm joining in with Kathy's monthly Food Wednesdays post! The first Wednesday of every month, we join together and share foodie photos, recipes and ideas! Mark your calendars and join in!! ♥
