Thursday Art Date: Luck

Hello Friends! 😊

Welcome to Thursday's Art Date, today our theme is Luck. Did you know that it's good luck when a bird poops on your head? That has actually happened to me lol...and poor Sylvester...Tweety Bird is so sneaky tricking him like that! But at least it'll bring him some luck! πŸ˜€

Here is the progress on my aging face drawing. Last week I finished the nose and cheeks. This morning I think it's going to be the mustache and maybe the mouth; then the finishing touches. It's been a great class to take! It may be my last class for a few months!

My weekly posts are going to be short and sweet for the next few months and I may have to do a few pre-scheduled ones. I'm kind of overwhelmed at the amount of work that's involved in the home buying process. I think my least favourite task to date was sitting through home insurance quotes from 7 different companies...but I found the best rate and at least that's done! Moving to a different province is also proving to be tricky and time consuming in the planning stage. Wish me continued luck my friends! 😊

This is a photo of the "Sun Room" which will become my studio. Look at that beautiful view! 😊😊😊 That'll be all for now folks! But please check out the link widget below to see more Luck artwork!

I took this photo in 2010 when I lived on Prince Edward Island. It was December by the ocean - oh that cold ocean wind!!! It went right into your bones! But those skies...the beautiful sunsets lit up the darkening skies with such magnificence!

  1. Lovely luck art Rain. Moving is very stressful even more so out of province. A bird did poop on me at a McD’s in Paris of all places, I never forgot. It was very yuck.

  2. That sun room is beyond gorgeous. And yes, moving is a busy, busy time. We will keep the light on for you and will totally understand if you need to take a break.
I am often pooped on my birds, but haven't noticed my luck improve.
I am so impressed at your drawing - and your photograph.

  3. Oh that sun room will be perfect for your studio. I am so excited for the 2 of you.

I, too, have had a bird poop on my head. I was walking to school. I ran home, washed my hair and still made it to school on time.

  5. Hello Rain,
that is very nice the Sun Room" there you can paint great!
Good luck for your move that everything goes well. It sounds great how you deal with Alex.
Laugh, I didn't know that a bird would poop you !!! Great fun drawing.
your aging face drawing looks great with the wrinkles, but the eye area is great, how real it looks!
If you are all set up again and come to rest then there will be more painting courses again but over the summer there will be a lot to have everything as you imagine.
    Lots of luck
    Hugs, Elke

  6. Hi Rain. Your bunny thinks he is LUCKY, but it is the birdie that it. :)
I like your face and are impressed. I would never be able to do that.

I really wish you luck in your moving business. Going through ads mostly makes you, well, less happy. I hope you find good solutions. Your Sun room looks perfect for a studio. Wish I had one.

    By for now.

  7. Rain,

That Tweety finally got him a putty-tat! :) The man face sketch is coming along beautifully. The detail and character is realistic. Excellent job so far, I can't wait to see the finish. Home buying is a chaotic process but you'll get through it just fine and oh how happy you'll be. The sun room that'll soon be your new studio is gorgeous! I love it and I hope I have one of my own someday. Let me know if I can do anything for you to help you in Blogosphere. I understand how overwhelming it can get and I know how important it is to keep things running, so I'm here to do what I can for you, my dear. ;)

  9. Hi There Tweety Bird! I really love that little bird so much. You're continuing to do so well with the aging of that man, and the room that is soon to become your studio looks so peaceful and spacious. Hope your day is as special as you are! Hugs, RO

  10. The light in your art room will be wonderful! ~ Your elderly man drawing is really coming along. I had a seagull poop on my head, thankfully I was able to jump in the ocean and wash it off right away ~ Blessings on your move ~

  12. That face is going to be amazing when completed Rain - the eyes are beautiful and hold a lot of stories to be told!
Will be anxious for you as the new home purchase and upcoming move takes place, but knowing the many capabilities of you and Alex everything will eventually fall into place.

Stay well, and best of luck my dear.

  14. It's been nearly 2 years since we moved from the east coast to Colorado. I am still stunned by the process... it wrung all my energy from me! I do wish you luck, as so much can go right or not in this process. Pick a fine mover, wait for the home that feels right (but you already have one right?) and all the picky tedious decisions will one day be made and it's just home repair for the rest of your life! lol

  15. I'll be by later today, since my second Thursday (of the month) tutorial sort of interfered with this play date.

  16. I have been pooped on by birds in the past and believe me it's bad luck. haha

  17. I am back and absolutely LOVE your new and beautiful soon-to-be studio. It is to die for. You are SO lucky. Speaking of luck, I've never had a bird poop on my head. Guess I'm not lucky (grin). But I have to admit, my insurance came with the last house I bought. I agree that before that, it was arduous.

Your painting is coming along nicely. I'm super impressed.

  18. Your sun room will be a marvellous place to create in Rain, I adore those sash windows. Love how your face is coming along, look forward to seeing the lower half next week. Not sure my little piece of art fits in with your theme this week but I feel lucky that I had a little free time to come by and say hello.
Now that's LUCKY... Hugs Tracey xx

  19. Good luck with all that. You do what you have to do for you.
I was thinking of you today. I haven't done much sketching. I needed inspiration!

  20. Really nice artwork as usual! And while would have you out your windows I will make a great studio and I'm sure your dogs will be happy as well having some Woods to run in. And not too far from the coast it looks like? I'm glad you found the place of your dreams

  21. Rain, buying a house - let alone moving - can be an exhausting experience. Good luck. Please be sure to allow yourself as much "off" time as you can.

  22. Glad you found the best rates. Sorry you are overwhelmed. Here's to moving past that phase and into your new home.

  23. Well I have been pooped on and I don't think I was feeling lucky when it happened ... but now I will, if I ever have the pleasure of a bird pooping again :)
I do wish you luck ... moving is a pain and hard, hard work. For us the worst part was downsizing ... we had so much accumulated stuff that we had to get rid of. It took us a year just to do that ... then, of course the packing and unpacking and putting away and cleaning ... not to mention the cazillion papers you have to sign. Luck is what you need ... I hope it all goes smoothly for you and I can't wait to see more of your dream house. So far I am loving it :)
Your man gets more handsome as the work progresses. I love the green eyes ... and he looks so serious or even sad. I hope you can put a slight smile on his face so we know he is happy deep inside. Great job, Rain.

As for Tweety ... good for him! Nice shot and Sylvester deserves it. Poor kitty, he is just doing what comes naturally, but he is soooo aggressive:)
So Good Luck to you, Rain and take your time and don't let it overwhelm you ... soon you will be abel to get back to normal in your new house.

  24. Wishing all a nice weekend

    much love...

  25. Yes, Rain, so many of us have been in the same position after buying a house and completing all the paperwork. You are so excited and then there the downsizing, packing, notices of address change, unpacking. it will take awhile, but all is good and no worries about not posting for awhile because you will be busy and we know you will share from time to time as time permits. The face is really looking good and looking forward to seeing more in the future.

  26. wow that sun room/studio is going to be a great place. I love the light in it.

Your cartoon is great as is the progess on the portrait! I remember (we have bought three houses in the past)...all the work...ugh...but every time once we moved in it was all worth it. Looking forward to when you have time to post more photos of the new place.

  27. U can do this, one step at a time ❤

  28. Hey Rain. Just popping in for an art fix.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Wow, that view! You are going to love it. I can just picture you sitting there full of joy and totally at peace.

Home buying can indeed be quite overwhelming. I suppose it's the price we pay to have a little place of our own. Eventually the dust will settle and you'll be nice and cozy in your new place!

We've moved to another province and that, too, can be quite a chore.

  30. That view is wonderful :)
Home buying, selling, moving is stressful.
I wish you continued success with your move.

    All the best Jan

  34. Hi Sam :) I left P.E.I. because I missed the mountains and woods! P.E.I. was beautiful, right by the ocean but I never got used to it and I was homesick!
