Lookie lookie!! :) My lemon tree is coming out of hibernation just like me. :) Little lemon blossoms are popping up all over my plant, oh, it smells divine! I wonder if I'll get any lemons this year!
Yesterday I took a very long snowshoe trek along a trail in the mountains. I spent two hours and snowshoe'd 6 kilometers. It was so wonderful being out in Nature!
The most southern parts of the river were running rapidly.
As I walked more north though, the river was still covered with ice and snow.
Close ups of the frozen waterfall show the nice blue hue of the river!
Then the snow started...Alex and I spent a nice evening playing board games and sipping a cocktail in front of the fire with all the furries around us.
Looking out my front door this morning, we got another 2 feet of snow overnight.
I think if it were up to Charlie, we'd have permanent winter! She spotted a few rabbits on our walk this morning. I tell ya, if I didn't have a firm hold of that leash, she'd be GONE...she's a Houdini dog!
I cannot believe the amount of snow you've gotten this winter! I do love winter so much, though, that I think I would still be happy, happy, happy watching those two feet of snow coming down. But that's probably because we don't really get a spring season here in northern MN. We go from dirty, melting snow piles (accompanied by mud wherever you have to walk) to 70 degree weather and, bang!, summer. Your evening with Alex and furry friends by the fire last night sounds delightful.

ReplyDeleteIt's a record Mama Pea. I do love winter too, but you know, by this time of year, I'd like to see a little bit of snow melting. Christmas in July you think? ;) I figure this year we'll have snow until mid May then a heat wave lol! I don't doubt that we will have snow when we are moving, but hopefully there will be none WHERE we are moving to!!! :) A positive? No bugs when there is this much snow still! :)

ReplyDeleteThe citrus trees are in bloom here and the air is thick with their perfume. It is heavenly. You may indeed get lemons. Once the blooms drop there should be little green pea size balls. Those are the lemons. We harvest ours after the first of the year.
ReplyDeleteHi Marsha :) The first year I got the plant (2016) I got 4 lemons, then 1 lemon last year. Those little green lemons (look like mini limes!!) always drop out...let's hope for lemons this year!!

Well, up jumps the solid rain! Your photos of the woods are fantastic! I can almost smell the woods when I look at them. That fireside photo is very cozy! Nothing like snuggle weather! Good luck on the lemons!

ReplyDeleteSure is beautiful there. It makes life easier if you can look out the window and see your view, instead of the building six inches off your window in some city.

ReplyDeleteHi Martha :) It is very beautiful in the Laurentians, I will miss them when we go, but better things are on the horizon!! I got my lemon tree in 2016, it was about $30 I think. It's easy to grow and I got a half dozen lemons over the years!

Well, they are here, but they don't come anywhere near this area. When Alex and I used to go fishing deep in the mountain, we could hear their calls.

ReplyDeleteHi RO :) The lemon tree is fun, but it comes and goes, one season I got FOUR lemons!! :) It's a Meyer lemon tree, so the lemons are a little smaller. I hope my little plant survives our upcoming move!!! I'm thinking of giving it to my nice neighbour...
