Thursday Art Date: Miniature
Hello Friends!! ππ
Welcome to Thursday's Art Date, today our theme is Miniature. Poor Wile E. Coyote thought for sure this time he'd be able to catch the Road Runner! But alas...he didn't read that miniature fine print on the tonic bottle! I hate that fine print!!!
πππ Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canadians!!!πππ
This week I'm sharing some photos instead of drawings. I took a little road trip to the Fundy Bay this week. I visited the Hopewell Rocks on Hopewell Cape, New Brunswick. It's just over an hour's drive away. The Rocks are also called the Flower Pot Rocks. I felt like a miniature pebble in a great expanse of rock and water, so I think I can squeeze by and say this fits the theme! π
The tides are claimed to be the highest in the world. Twice daily you can walk the "ocean floor" for about 4-5 hours, then twice more daily, the tides come in up to 42 feet and cover the entire beach area. You have to skedaddle to higher ground once the tide really gets close! I was there during low tide.
Here's a little video of the tide coming in. I stood on a stone about 10 feet from the waves and within 10 minutes, I had to move back!
The tides have carved out beautiful formations, cliffs and coves along this side of the Fundy Bay.
The enormous piles of seaweed are spectacular.
There are lots of faces carved into the cliffs and rocks! Here are some more photos:
I took the opportunity to collect some beautiful stones. They are all so smooth with such frequent contact with the tides.
The Fundy Bay is a magical place for me. I love being here, the last time I visited was 2010 and I'm so happy to be living so close now! I'll be back often now that the park has reopened!
The Hopewell Rocks is an annual nesting ground for the Peregrine Falcon. There is a sign before you enter the lookout, saying to tread lightly and keep your voice down so as not to disturb them. This is the first time (of maybe a dozen times) that I have seen one when I visit this lookout! Very lucky! These birds were on the endangered list in the 1970's, at the brink of extinction. With careful pesticide control and a relocation program, they were considered "not at risk" in the late 2010's!
Maybe my birding friends can help me out here. I'm guessing this is an adult female, because she has a beige neck/throat around her "sideburns"; and her feathering is "barred and spotted" (from my Field Guide To The Birds Of East Of The Rockies - Thanks again Phil!)
Walking Jack and Charlie at sunrise. The sound of distant coyotes yipping got their attention in the second photo! The entire family (human and fur) is doing fine as I type this!
Nothing miniature about this garlic scape harvest! I harvested 67 of them yesterday which means I will have 67 heads of garlic to harvest, cure and store in about a month's time! I'm going to save some of the heads to plant in the fall, so hopefully I will never have to buy garlic bulbs again for planting. Self-sufficiency! π
This week's highlighted artist is Tom from Tom The Backroads Traveller blog! Tom is a very talented photographer as you can see from his photo above!! He has a keen eye. He also has a good sense of humour! Please visit his blog!! π

Well of course I love your art but I was hoping you would post photos of your trip. Wow! I see why you love it there so much. What a great place. You look beautiful too. Ohhhhhh the harvest of garlic scrap. Nice very nice. You have to come read my post. You will crack up. Talk to you soon N.
Fantastic pictures of the peregrine falcon! When I was young, one of my favourite books was called, "My Side of the Mountain" about a boy who lives by himself in the Catskills Mountains and has a trained peregrine falcon to hunt for him. I've loved them ever since! Those Fundy tides are remarkable. -Jenn
Wow great photos and happy Canada Day! I really miss the coast sometimes, need to get over to Oregon at some point. We're actually opening to go East into Wyoming this fall, never been there. Glad you're getting a great garlic Harvest!
Hi Rain! Beautiful photos from Fundy Bay. Powerful nature. And you look really good in that selfie. Also great to hear about the peregrines. Such beautiful birds. And YAY for the garlic. Once I have more garden space, I'll definitely plant some, too. Have a great day!
I really just stopped by to wish you a happy Canada Day, but got caught up reading about Fundy Bay and the rock formations and tides. I certainly enjoyed my time visiting this place that is so special to you. Have a great holiday.
Hello Rain, Your drawn cartoon picture is great and so fun. Who doesn't have the small print, I'm not a fan of it either!!!! *wow* is that nice this little trip to the Fundy Bay. What a rocky landscape and these little stones that you found. I'm excited. How exciting the Peregrine Falcon you saw, great photos and that definitely fits the topic ... I've never seen this garlic green like that, it's great that you have a lot for the months.
I wish you a happy Canada day, take good care of you, hugs Elke
Hi Rain. I love places like this and can walk there for hours. We have something like it in Sweden but to go there I have to drive 7 hours. :( Love the Peregrine falcon as well. Good to know it is not endangered anymore. Nice shots.
oh thank you for introducing such fascinating beach ,highest tides in the world sound bit scary and really thrilling to me wow
you captured place beautifully ,rocks carved by water look so intriguing and amazing !
falcon seems so comfortable with your closeness and shots ,glad that specie is out of danger now . your harvest is great pleasure for eyes . enjoy the delicious meals with homegrown veggies :) blessings!
this made me really miss the bay of fundy! we took teddy there quite a few times. it is an amazing place. thanks for the mini trip! i'm so happy everyone is doing so well.
...I remember visiting the Fundy Bay about 60 years ago, it was a wonderful trip. I must say that your garlic is doing so much better than mine. Thanks Rain for hosting, I'll be back tomorrow to link.
A lovely trip to the Bay of Fundy, an area I hope to visit as soon as travel opens up fully. Congratulations on seeing the Peregrine Falcon, an impressive bird that always leaves me in awe. I entered your challenge this week based on my complaints about the miniature type size in the book I just reviewed. I hope that's not too much of a stretch. Happy Canada Day, Rain. I hope we all take a moment to reflect on the tragedies of the residential school system, however. There is much to celebrate in our country, but there are wounds to heal too. Hugs from Ontario. David
Looking fabulous in one of your great hats Rain! The Bay of Fundy pix are awesome and I can see you visiting more often now you live closer.
I'm thinking that could be a juvie female Peregrine as the feathers are still quite light. As I do annually - an addiction of sorts - I watched four being raised in New Hampshire at a location on the 13-story building where Bob worked years ago! This year the parents (same pair for the past 6 years) raised them with such love and care and all four fledged about two weeks ago - one female, four males, all healthy and so beautiful to watch. They are such gorgeous birds.
Happy CANADA DAY DEAR - enjoy and stay happy and healthy. Mary x
We visited the Hopewell Rocks when we were down in the Maritimes a few years ago. SO awesome! You found a handful of truly beautiful little rocks as souvenirs. And may I say, that's a fab photo of you, Rain!
Oh LOL! Poor Wile E., he did himself in once again. I love your sense of humor, Rain. This is awesome. I really love your pictures of Homewell Rocks. I see a little bear sitting in that first picture and of course there are faces carved out by the rocks. What a beautiful, peaceful place ... you are lucky to be so close. And, by the way, the picture of you is gorgeous ... I mean really gorgeous. As for your Peregrine ... it could be the male or the female sitting on the nest as the coloring of both is the same. The only way you can distinguish them is to see them together and then you will note that the female is considerable larger than the male :) It is, in fact that way with most raptors. The sound of coyotes would have caught my attention too ... it always sends a shiver down my spine. It is fairly certain that they wouldn't approach with a human on the scene, but, I never want to second guess them ... if hungry enough :( I don't think I have ever seen a garlic plant ... how cool they are and how awesome that you are growing your own. You are a real pioneer, Rain ... glad to see those pink, happy cheeks and smiling face.
Belated Canada π¨π¦ Day wishes to you, Rain, as we prepare to celebrate our πΊπΈπ₯holiday weekend here in the US, and a soggy one here in NH to start. Thanks for sharing these photos of not onky your trip to the Bay of Fundy but one of yourself too. A day trip is always a great way to lift your spirits and certainly this one seemed to do that for you. The photos of the peregrine falcon were impressive too and how fortunate to have captured them on your visit. Also, liked your headgear as I have something very similarπ
Thanks Jenn! :) I'm glad I conjured up that memory of your favourite book! I only wish I had time to stick around for high tide when I went, next time! :)
Thanks Nancy! :) I hope you make it to the coast, being near the ocean is really a wonderful thing, I'm so grateful! Yeah, the garlic harvest is going to be a big one!! :)
Thanks TB! :) I used my zoom lens for the falcon, I was about 30 feet away from her...she just kept staring at me. I think we were both very fascinated by each other! :)
Thanks Kokopelli! :) I agree, powerful nature indeed. I am drawn to that area of the world. The garlic is awesome, I hope you get to plant some!! They don't need too much space!!
Thanks Elke! :) I'm thinking about what I can do with all of those stones! The garlic scapes are the flowers of the garlic plant before they bloom, and they taste like mild versions of garlic cloves, very delicious! I'm lucky to have harvested them, and very surprised at how well they grew this year!
Thanks Baili! :) I'm very grateful to have all of those garlic scapes! They're in the fridge waiting for me to figure out what to do with them lol! The Rocks is truly a wonderful place and I'm happy to have shared those photos! :)
Thanks Joyce! :) Nice to know Teddy got to visit. I was thinking there has to be a way I can bring Marlene...if not for all those stairs, I may call to find out if we can somehow bring her down another way so she can experience it!
Thanks Tom! :) How nice to know that you were able to visit the Fundy Bay! It is a lovely spot for sure! I don't know what I did to get that garlic growing so big! :)
Thanks David! :) I was tickled to see the Peregrine Falcon, I have never seen any type of raptor before and this was so special for me, glad to share the photos!
Thanks Mary! :) That is SO neat about your Peregrine addiction lol! Thanks for telling me all of that. The Fundy Bay is truly a wonderful area, it was a great little road trip!! :)
Thanks Gigi! :) You're right. That day was sweltering but the wind was so refreshing and the mist off the Bay too, was very nice, a little salty though! :)
Thanks so much Debra! :)) Those little rocks...I will likely make some kind of jewellery out of them, I actually got about 50 of them, they are so smooth! You visited the Rocks, so you know how amazing they are. Lots of earth and water energy there! :)
Thanks Andrea! :)) Interesting about the size of the raptor. I was really trying to look all around to see if there were any others in the area, and that was the only bird. Next time I visit, I'll stay a little longer to see if more birds appear. There were SO MANY faces in all of the cliffs and rocks...I spent hours just looking at them! The coyotes around here stay away from the humans. I feel quite safe with my pack AND my pepper spray! Though sometimes their yips and howls are quite haunting! :)
Thanks Veronica! :) I really enjoyed that road trip a lot. There is a lot of energy in that spot and I'm so glad I experienced it again. It was rejuvenating!
Thanks Dorothy! :) Our Canada Day was a soggy one but that was fine because there were no loud people out and about! :) I'd love to see your "headgear"!! The one I wore is called "The Down Under" it's from Australia. Alex got it for me as a gift one Christmas, I love it! :)
Fundy Bay looks (and sounds) like a great place to be able to visit easily. Thank you for telling us about it, and sharing your pictures. What good falcon pics! And what a pretty picture of you, Rain. :)
I'll have to show this to Rick. He said one of his best rides was cycling around the Bay of Fundy. He didn't take photos, though, so now I know what he was seeing and I can see why! It looks like a wonderful spot.
Love the cartoon:):):) And Fundy Bay is so beautiful with lots to enjoy and explore. I've never had scapes but I know I'd enjoy them very much.Happy PPF!
What a lovely post, Rain! So beautiful along the Fundy coast. I am originally from the south shore--so I love sea and the Fundy area. The Peregrine falcon pics are amazing. And what a great pic of you. Fun art too! Happy weekend.
I didn't know of fundy bay and it seems very scary with such high water levels when the tide comes in, you would really have to pay attention walking around there! I would be scared. Like you, I pick up stones on the beach, they have feeling/history and I have a pot of them at home, no idea what for! Not painting at the moment, too busy with work but miniature things happened here today, I transplanted my teeny little lettuce seedlings into pots (this is an outdoorsy garden table top lettuce growing venture so all very small but great for cutting salad leaf) Betty x
Stunning views Rain. Poor Wile E, how he hoped his shrinking would hide him from the Roadrunner hee hee.. Good to read the fur babies are doing well, i'm on Freya walking duties this week dodging the squirrels and pigeons she loves to chase. Look at all that garlic, I have 7 out of 9 planted in my tiny tiny garden, the scapes will make great pesto. Take care Tracey xx
Hello Rain, I hope you had a wonderful Canada Day! I always enjoy seeing your cartoon sketches, the Road Runner is a favorite. Your Bay of Fundy and Hopewell Rocks photos brought back memories of my trip there, it is a beautiful place to visit. The Peregrine Falcon is an awesome bird, great series of photos. I love your cute furbabies, I am glad they are staying alert to the sounds of the coyotes. You are looking good too, I am glad everyone is doing well. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a happy weekend!
Hello Rain. What an amazing place that Fundy Bay. We get high tides but nothing like those. I'm amazed you got so close to a Peregrine. Probably helped by the location, relatively few people that might cause the birds harm? And of course the fact that your pictures are of a fresh juvenile yet to realise that humans are best avoided.
Thanks Linda! :) The scapes are delicious...I guess like a scallion to an onion, much milder than the actually garlic clove. I really feel blessed to have so many!
Thanks Dixie! :) Wow...I envy that you are from the South Shore...that is an area we considered moving to! The Fundy coast is such a beautiful area...hope you have a lovely weekend!!
Thanks Betty! :) There are rangers in the park who actually come down to the beach area and make sure people are gone when the tide starts to really come in fast! I envy your lettuce growing! I used to grow lettuce in my window year round and always had baby lettuce...I need to start doing that again! :)
Thanks Tracey! :) Yes! I plan on making pesto with the scapes...scape butter and then flash freezing the rest...oh scape and potato soup too! :) Enjoy your walks with Freya! Those are moments that are precious! :)
Thanks Phil! :) The Peregrine was a good 30 feet away, I had my zoom lens out. The lookout in that area of the park is very remote and when I was there anyway, there was nobody else. So it's a juvenile, thank you for that information! I wish there were a few of them together to compare sizes. Oh and tell Sue, I'll bring the gin for that Giant Tonic! LOL...that made me laugh! :)
Your art is amazing and so is Fundy Bay! Thanks for the recipe on toasting pita chips. When I worked for a big telecommunications company we had Peregrine Falcons on the roof with a webcam. We had a very tall building which they liked. They raised their young there for many years. It was during that time when they were endangered. WOnderful scapes! The flower photo is beautiful!
Oh wow, Rain I thoroughly enjoyed your photos from Funday Bay. The falon s beautiful. I’m happy you got to see it on your visit. I hope you have a terrific weekend.
Amazing art as always, Rain The Bay of Fundy, wow, what a gorgeous place. The Peregrine Falcon is totally awesome to see. Thanks for sharing all this beauty for us to enjoy. Have a wonderful week!
I busted out laughing at your first cartoon sketch, Rain. I never liked Wiley E. so good for Roadrunner! Happy Canada Day! Wow, what a cool beach, had no idea there was a spot like that with those tides! And, are you sure you didn't bring your own makeup crew there with you? That is a gorgeous gorgeous pic of you -- framer for sure! So glad the furry duo is healthy and I hope you have a great weekend/week! xoxo
So many things to say and so little time in which to say them, but your photos make me want to take a trip right up there! You have some spectacular scenery to admire. I remember a trip with an ex and five children up that way, and I'll always wish I could've focused more on the surroundings than yelling at children, roadside van breakdowns, and an irritable ex. Maybe one day... Thanks for sharing these wonderful pix.
Loving all your minatures! Love the sound of the water. That always makes me smile and makes me just feel good all over. I would enjoy being close to the ocean so that I could just hop in the car and head that way when I needed a pick me up....but from where I am, the ocean sound is seven plus hours away. Glad to hear that everyone and all the furs are doing well. I am still kicking and my furs are awesome, all three of them.
Beautiful post, Rain! What an amazing area. This is the type of place I'd enjoy immersing myself in and return home a whole new person. Those stones are stunning! I would have picked some up to take back with me, as well. :)
Thanks Pam! :) I really feel grateful for being so close to the coast. Even though I'm a mountain mamma, I always feel so re-energized when I'm near the ocean!
Thanks Martha! :)) ♥ I have those stones right next to me, and I am feeling their energy. If you ever make it to the Maritimes, we will go to the Rocks together! :)
Beautiful pictures, Rain. Good to see the scenery and the critters, and those scapes are beautiful. That is a super nice picture of you as well! You are looking good!
Haha, yes the small print can be dangerous ;-)) I enjoyed your road trip to Fundy Bay - very beautiful, fascinating landscape. Oh, and seeing the Peregrine Falcon this close is really amazing! You look very happy on the selfie - and it's good to read that the entire family is doing fine :-D Have a nice week! XOX Traude https://rostrose.blogspot.com/2021/06/tagesausflug-schloss-artstetten.html
I like the cute road runner cartoon character. Thanks for showing the Hopewell Rocks and the beach with low tide. Yes, I can see face rock. I like your photo. Nice shots of the falcon. Great harvest of garlic scape. I haven't tried planting garlic.
Nice to know you had a good time at Fundy Bay, Rain. You look so happy. I can feel nature's wonder in such interestingly sculpted rock formation, dramatic tides, and wildlife.
Okay, why is the name of this blog still Rain's Garden....needs to be Rains Art! haha....I was going back through your pics on this post a min ago and something hit me....those rocks with the opens in the center, looks like a thumbs down shape..haha
Hi Pam! :)) Yes! I know...and I'm working on a new website called Rain Frances Art!!! I'll keep everyone posted!!! :) There are SO many shapes in the Rocks!!! So many things to see!!!
I absolutely loved seeing the Bay of Fundy and the beach around it! Wonderful. I have read about it, but this is the first "real person"** visit I've seen and your photos and words are great. (** Of course I'm sure the people who write travel books and guides are REAL too, but not real to me the way fellow bloggers are.) How I'd love to visit there. We saw a place in Alaska famous for high tides (name of the place escapes me) but we heard there that "yours" was even better!! Happy all are well and as always admiring your art! Poor Wiley C never did read the fine print did he?
As always, your artwork is amazing, and what a treat to live so close to such a beautiful park. The scenery there is truly amazing! Hope you're doing well! Hugs, RO
Rain - stunning rock formations, especially with the plants growing on top - I can see how they earned the name Flowerpot Rocks. How marvelous to see a peregrine falcon - your photos are amazing. No wonder you look so happy in your selfie/photo! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!
What a great post Rain! Your artwork is so cute! I hope you had a good Canada Day! I was at those Rocks a long time ago! My mom has a picture of me with them. I should share it one day! Thanks for sharing your pictures of the Hopewell Rocks! Loved seeing them all! I love the stones you collected! You look so beautiful in your picture! That Peregrine Falcon is stunning! WOW! Big Hugs!
Thanks Sallie! :) I'm so glad you enjoyed the post! I plan to go back this week again, it's such a beautiful area! About (omgosh) 20 years ago I went kayaking around those beautiful rocks during high tide and it was such a fun experience! I don't blame Wile E....I rarely read the fine print myself lol! :)
Thanks Jenn! :) I hope your kids get to visit the Rocks. Bouctouche is a little north of me, maybe a few hours drive, I've never actually been up that way but I know that there are some lovely coasts to visit up there too!
Oh, snap! I love your miniature illustration!! I think I shared the cartoon in my A2Z series this year where Wyle E Coyotte becomes miniaturized. Thanks for putting a smile on my face!
❤ Thanks for your comment, I love hearing from everyone! ❤ Why not join me and my fellow artists every Thursday for TADD? That's Thursday Art and Dinner Date! It's a lot of fun! Love, Rain

ReplyDeleteThanks Valerie! :) That area of my province is very magical for me, I'm blessed to be living so close to it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Baili! :) I'm very grateful to have all of those garlic scapes! They're in the fridge waiting for me to figure out what to do with them lol! The Rocks is truly a wonderful place and I'm happy to have shared those photos! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Joyce! :) Nice to know Teddy got to visit. I was thinking there has to be a way I can bring Marlene...if not for all those stairs, I may call to find out if we can somehow bring her down another way so she can experience it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tom! :) How nice to know that you were able to visit the Fundy Bay! It is a lovely spot for sure! I don't know what I did to get that garlic growing so big! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks David! :) I was tickled to see the Peregrine Falcon, I have never seen any type of raptor before and this was so special for me, glad to share the photos!
ReplyDeleteThanks Martha! :) Everyone is doing well, life seems to be back on track! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary! :) That is SO neat about your Peregrine addiction lol! Thanks for telling me all of that. The Fundy Bay is truly a wonderful area, it was a great little road trip!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Gillena! :) So happy you are enjoying the art date! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Gigi! :) You're right. That day was sweltering but the wind was so refreshing and the mist off the Bay too, was very nice, a little salty though! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Debra! :)) Those little rocks...I will likely make some kind of jewellery out of them, I actually got about 50 of them, they are so smooth! You visited the Rocks, so you know how amazing they are. Lots of earth and water energy there! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Dino! :) I'm so glad I finally got to go after so long!
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrea! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jan! :) I'm just so happy I got a chance to finally visit!
ReplyDeleteThanks Veronica! :) I really enjoyed that road trip a lot. There is a lot of energy in that spot and I'm so glad I experienced it again. It was rejuvenating!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dorothy! :) Our Canada Day was a soggy one but that was fine because there were no loud people out and about! :) I'd love to see your "headgear"!! The one I wore is called "The Down Under" it's from Australia. Alex got it for me as a gift one Christmas, I love it! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Marsha! :) It was a lovely day trip, I can't wait to go back!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place. You are very fortunate to see the falcon. I'd love see one. And meep, meep, The Roadrunner! One of my fav cartoons.
ReplyDeleteSweet photo of you ~ so pretty ~ Great variety post and Happy Canada Day to you ~ Xo

Fundy Bay looks (and sounds) like a great place to be able to visit easily. Thank you for telling us about it, and sharing your pictures. What good falcon pics! And what a pretty picture of you, Rain. :)
ReplyDeleteI'll have to show this to Rick. He said one of his best rides was cycling around the Bay of Fundy. He didn't take photos, though, so now I know what he was seeing and I can see why! It looks like a wonderful spot.
ReplyDeletePS -- Happy Canada Day (a day late but still, celebrate!)
ReplyDeleteLove the cartoon:):):) And Fundy Bay is so beautiful with lots to enjoy and explore. I've never had scapes but I know I'd enjoy them very much.Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post, Rain!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful along the Fundy coast.
ReplyDeleteStunning views Rain.
ReplyDeleteTake care Tracey xx
Hello Rain,
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a wonderful Canada Day!
I like the details you observe. Lovely pictures all, especially like the falcon.
ReplyDeleteHello Rain.
ReplyDeleteSue said that you need gin with that tonic.
You look so pretty and happy there! It's nice to have some special places that make us feel this way. Love that Falcon!
ReplyDeleteThanks John! :) I really got lucky seeing that falcon, it was such a treat! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol! :) I appreciate your compliment!
ReplyDeleteThanks Becki! :) The trip to the Fundy Bay was so re-energizing for me. I really needed it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanie! :) How awesome that Rick biked around the Fundy Bay!!! Was he on the NB side or the Nova Scotia side? Either way, it's a lovely ride!
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda! :) The scapes are delicious...I guess like a scallion to an onion, much milder than the actually garlic clove. I really feel blessed to have so many!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dixie! :) Wow...I envy that you are from the South Shore...that is an area we considered moving to! The Fundy coast is such a beautiful area...hope you have a lovely weekend!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Betty! :) There are rangers in the park who actually come down to the beach area and make sure people are gone when the tide starts to really come in fast! I envy your lettuce growing! I used to grow lettuce in my window year round and always had baby lettuce...I need to start doing that again! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Tracey! :) Yes! I plan on making pesto with the scapes...scape butter and then flash freezing the rest...oh scape and potato soup too! :) Enjoy your walks with Freya! Those are moments that are precious! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Eileen! :) I'm glad I jogged your memories! This area is not to be forgotten! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Shiju! :) Seeing the falcon was such great luck!
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Diane! :) It is a special place for me, definitely. I feel so re-energized since being there! :)
ReplyDeleteYour art is amazing and so is Fundy Bay!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sam! :) That's really neat about the Falcons!! I hope the pita chips recipe works well for you! :) Let me know!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, Rain I thoroughly enjoyed your photos from Funday Bay. The falon s beautiful. I’m happy you got to see it on your visit. I hope you have a terrific weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks Belinda! :) Having a terrific weekend, hope you are too! :)
ReplyDeleteAmazing art as always, Rain The Bay of Fundy, wow, what a gorgeous place. The Peregrine Falcon is totally awesome to see. Thanks for sharing all this beauty for us to enjoy. Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bill! :)) I can't wait to go back...it was such a wonderful experience!! :)
ReplyDeleteJust love your cartoons. Beautiful photos, especially of the peregrine falcon.
ReplyDeleteThanks Wendy! :) I really got lucky seeing that falcon! :)
ReplyDeleteI busted out laughing at your first cartoon sketch, Rain. So glad the furry duo is healthy and I hope you have a great weekend/week! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Aimeslee! :)) Glad my sketch got you laughing! :))
ReplyDeleteSo many things to say and so little time in which to say them, but your photos make me want to take a trip right up there! You have some spectacular scenery to admire. I remember a trip with an ex and five children up that way, and I'll always wish I could've focused more on the surroundings than yelling at children, roadside van breakdowns, and an irritable ex. Maybe one day... Thanks for sharing these wonderful pix.
ReplyDeleteLoving all your minatures!
ReplyDeleteFun artwork!
ReplyDeleteLove your photos of the Falcon!
Have a blessed day!
Beautiful post, Rain! What an amazing area. This is the type of place I'd enjoy immersing myself in and return home a whole new person. Those stones are stunning! I would have picked some up to take back with me, as well. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Presstfortime! :) It really is a beautiful area and I think I'll be going back there this week!
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam! :) I really feel grateful for being so close to the coast. Even though I'm a mountain mamma, I always feel so re-energized when I'm near the ocean!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lea! :) I appreciate your comment. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Martha! :)) ♥ I have those stones right next to me, and I am feeling their energy. If you ever make it to the Maritimes, we will go to the Rocks together! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures, Rain. Good to see the scenery and the critters, and those scapes are beautiful. That is a super nice picture of you as well! You are looking good!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed Canada Day - I do love Road Runner and Willie Coyote
ReplyDeleteHaha, yes the small print can be dangerous ;-))
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your road trip to Fundy Bay - very beautiful, fascinating landscape. Oh, and seeing the Peregrine Falcon this close is really amazing! You look very happy on the selfie - and it's good to read that the entire family is doing fine :-D
Have a nice week!

I like the cute road runner cartoon character. Thanks for showing the Hopewell Rocks and the beach with low tide. Yes, I can see face rock. I like your photo. Nice shots of the falcon. Great harvest of garlic scape. I haven't tried planting garlic.
ReplyDeleteNice to know you had a good time at Fundy Bay, Rain. You look so happy. I can feel nature's wonder in such interestingly sculpted rock formation, dramatic tides, and wildlife.
ReplyDeleteYoko
Okay, why is the name of this blog still Rain's Garden....needs to be Rains Art! haha....I was going back through your pics on this post a min ago and something hit me....those rocks with the opens in the center, looks like a thumbs down shape..haha
ReplyDeleteHappy belated Canada Day, Rain. Wish you a very good week. I saw your smile, I see your feel fine. Wished I could go into the Mountain too...
ReplyDelete...hugs by Heidrun
Thanks so much Rosalea! :)) That spot on the Fundy Bay is gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol! :) I love ANY Looney Tunes!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Traude! :) It was such a great road trip and seeing the Falcon made it just perfect! I hope to go back soon! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy! :) Garlic is very easy to grow, but it doesn't like containers...I learned that a few years ago!
ReplyDeleteThanks Yoko! :) It is a very magical place and the earth energy is amazing!!
ReplyDeleteHi Pam! :)) Yes! I know...and I'm working on a new website called Rain Frances Art!!! I'll keep everyone posted!!! :) There are SO many shapes in the Rocks!!! So many things to see!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Heidrun! :) Hugs right back!! :)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely loved seeing the Bay of Fundy and the beach around it!
ReplyDeleteOh forgot to say, spectacular pictures of the Peregrine Falcon! That is one of the reasons I'd love to visit there.
ReplyDeleteRain, Loved the video to hear the power of the water! Have a great week. Sylvia D.
ReplyDeleteAs always, your artwork is amazing, and what a treat to live so close to such a beautiful park. The scenery there is truly amazing! Hope you're doing well! Hugs, RO
ReplyDeleteRain - stunning rock formations, especially with the plants growing on top - I can see how they earned the name Flowerpot Rocks. How marvelous to see a peregrine falcon - your photos are amazing. No wonder you look so happy in your selfie/photo! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post Rain! WOW! Big Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful adventure! Our kids are going out east in August, they hope, to visit the other gramma! She's in Bouctouche!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sallie! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Sylvia! :) Glad you enjoyed it! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks RO! :) I do feel very lucky to live close enough to visit there! I wanted to go so badly last summer but they were closed because of the virus.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Angie! :) I was very happy to be there and can't wait to get back! I really loved seeing that falcon!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Stacy! :)) I'd LOVE to see that photo of you at the Rocks!! It's a real special experience to go there, I'm happy you got to go!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenn! :) I hope your kids get to visit the Rocks. Bouctouche is a little north of me, maybe a few hours drive, I've never actually been up that way but I know that there are some lovely coasts to visit up there too!
ReplyDeleteRain,
ReplyDeleteOh, snap! I love your miniature illustration!! I think I shared the cartoon in my A2Z series this year where Wyle E Coyotte becomes miniaturized. Thanks for putting a smile on my face!
