I keep forgetting to update you on Raven!!! She got her new brace fitted and she's walking amazingly! She has to wear the brace from the time she wakes up until just before bed every day...likely for the rest of her life. But you know what? She can WALK and she LOVES it! ♥ I filmed the dogs walking on the blueberry field trail the other morning...they are just so cute together! Raven is full of curiosity and she just adores Jack! ♥

Fun times at your house! You have quite the artist's hand.
ReplyDeleteLovely scratch drawing and the food looks amazing. Raven is so lucky to have you now.
ReplyDeleteI love that Raven's new brace is working so well.
ReplyDeleteBeing woken up by a cat purring is a much better way to wake than some. Jazz sometimes wakes me that way, but if his need his urgent he is much more insistent.
Your scratch art owl reminds me of Ookpik, the sealskin Inuit toy that was popular in the 1960s (I had one as a little girl). My Rare One has a big rain barrel like that to catch the runoff from her garage eaves so she can save money watering her garden too! I like your watercolour whale too, especially how you used spatters around it to represent the water. I'll add it to your balloons tutorial to try someday!
ReplyDeleteSo glad Raven can walk! ❤️❤️❤️
ReplyDeleteI like your scratch art and you whale is great too.
ReplyDeletei love how oscar turns his one ear when you are talking about him. and raven can really move with that brace. jack is a real hound with his nose to the ground. i love what good friends they have become already!
ReplyDeleteI am loving your scratch art too-will be back later to check out all the videos. thank you for the new button, and your food always looks delicious. good news for Raven, sounds like he enjoys his new home. Hugs from the lake
ReplyDeleteGoodness, so much to see on this post that it is still loading!!!
ReplyDeleteI do like your scratch art, it is a nice looking owl.
All the best Jan
Scratch art is great. Gives so much depth to Bugs. How smart to catch rain water for your garden. Baby Oscar sure loves you. Raven looks great in her new brace. Jack looks happy to have a friend to walk with too.
ReplyDeleteno Scratch Art for me today. I find it too difficult :)
ReplyDeleteYour scratch art is beautiful, I love the owl.
ReplyDeleteI have a yogurt maker (still from Germany), but I haven't been really successful with it. Maybe I should try again, your video makes it look so easy. We also have a rain barrel, except that it doesn't rain here, so we usually put in all the water that we catch when the water heats up in the shower, sink etc. Works great and we definitely save quite some water with it. It won't water the entire garden since it is too big, but every little bit helps (and the garden is a low water one).
You cat and dogs are so cute - waking up to that purring is not the worst thing!
Great post my friend. Cat on head purring loudly. I love the scratch art, yes an owl. Great food as always. Great buy on the barrels. Hell that's like free. They are very expensive here. Glad Raven is doing so well. Have a great day today.
ReplyDeleteYou are amazingly prolific! That owl wanted to be drawn. And I like the happy blue whale! So much good stuff here. Thank you Rain
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Rain. It would be a great thing if everyone had a rain barrel (or barrels), especially people who live in dry regions of the continent. Here's how I cooked potatoes last evening for dinner. I parboiled them for six minutes, then I cut them into wedges, tossed them in olive oil, garlic, paprika, cayenne pepper and green onions and baked them in the oven for 25 minutes at 400 degrees. They were delicious!
ReplyDeleteFun art and food. Happy Thursday
ReplyDeleteMuchπlove
Yay for Raven, I am so happy for her and you. She is walking along beautifully. Love the scratch art, bug and the owl face are awesome. The whale is another favorite. Your potato dish look yummy. Take care, have a great day!
ReplyDeleteDearest Rain,
ReplyDeletethe photo of you painting and holding a wine glass looks very relaxed and you look so cute in it! Your scratch art pictures and your watercolor whale look great. And your food photos are very tempting. Your wake-up video is also delightful :-D I am particularly pleased that Jack and Raven are so good and happy together.
All the best and hugs from here!

Hi dear Rain. What a great post - I enjoyed it all so much.
ReplyDeleteJust back from the UK (yes, managed to get there at long last to see family and friends) and a local trip in easter NC, so am also behind with blogging.
It's getting hard to keep up and in this hot summer weather I'm struggling. Many appts. to keep since getting back from across the pond - dentist today to complete a root canal, pain clinic tomorrow for a steroid injection in spine! Life doesn't get easy as we age but coming here to see what you've been up to has been a joy this morning and makes me want to get up and get going, haha!
Enjoy your summer - hugs, Mary.
Hi Rain ,
ReplyDeleteOh I am enjoying the song as I type. So much fun.
Thanks.
Wonderful post and art today. I will check out your videos too.
I am especially interested in the two ingredient yogurt.
When I was growing up, almost every family in the neighborhood had a rain barrel.
We would check them out, but never waste the precious water.
Thank you for hosting.
Hey Rain, hoping your summer is going well. I know that means a lot of extra work for you esp if you have a garden! Loving the art.
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear about Raven! So much goodness in this post. great art projects and videos. Love the video of Oscar:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for all you share and make us hungry for-especially that pina colada on this very hot day here:):)
I love that first photo with your picnic and your plein air painting. And I have been wanting a rain barrel, so thanks for the video. You are very clever Rain. And your dinner looks delicious, especially since tonight I was just too tired and had a breakfast shake. And your pina colada looks yummy and perfect for summer! Have a great rest of your week Rain. hugs-Erika
ReplyDelete...my head is swimming after see all that you pack into your day. Thanks for hosting the party.
ReplyDeleteYour post is bubbling with enthusiasm, energy, and happiness, Rain! I'm thrilled to hear how well Raven is doing, and I'm glad that Jack has a canine companion. I'm sure he misses Charlie and Marlene. Your scratch art looks great. You used a different technique, and at some pointI'll try a piece using your approach. When I return from our trip, I'll have to try your yogurt. I frequently use plain yogurt when cooking or baking, so it would be nice to have some on hand. I get tired of paying too much for a small container. As always, your food looks delicious, and that Pina Colada looks fabulous. So do you! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love those outdoor photos of you! Love the scenery.
ReplyDeleteAll kinds of good faces here. Thank you for joining in Friday Face Off. Have the best day!
ReplyDeleteScratch art is hard, and you did an amazing job with yours, Rain!
ReplyDelete-Soma
You go, Raven! Hurrah! I did an abstract scratch doodle just now and found it quite meditative. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteOh Rain ~ all of your art work is divine and love your doggies ~ Xo

Hello Rain,
ReplyDeleteThis is a great critter post. From your sketches of Bugs and the Owl and the video of your sweet furbabies out taking their walk. I am so happy for you and Raven, I am sure she loves being able to take walks with you. They are cute pups. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a happy weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
I can't drink a lot of sweet drinks now but I'll have a glass of the red! Love seeing your art, especially the owl! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteWell, there's a little art here (1) and a little food here (1) so I guess I 'qualify!" That pina colada looks fabulous on this warm day! Love the dogs!
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a great weekend ~ xo

There's a lot in this post. Always a pleasure seeing your creativity.
ReplyDeleteHello Rain, busy, busy as ever I see. I really don't know how you pack so much energy into your days. The videos are great. I have to remind myself that you get super settled summers up there unlike here. We are due a heat wave next week that might last as much as two days!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your action-packed Sunday.
Hello, :=) It's 40 degrees here in Portugal, and that Pinacolada looks just the drink to quench my thirst. I enjoyed seeing your Sratch art, and the water colour. There is nothing like outdoor painting. Enjoy a relaxing Sunday. ;=)
ReplyDeleteI love your scratch art, it's beautiful. The dogs are always a pleasure to see. Enjoy the day, Rain!
ReplyDeleteThose French quarter potatoes look delicious! I love potatoes. And that pina colada looks so refreshing. Perfect kind of weather for those right now.
ReplyDeleteWonderful art to go with some yummy food!
ReplyDeleteA very enjoyable visit. Chock full of fun stuff. Your scratch art was wonderful, even though you did not recognize your owl until you finished that one.
ReplyDeleteThank you for leaving a nice comment on my blog. I haven't kept up with your blog, and I'm sorry about that. You create so much art, and as I look back through your posts, I've fallen in love with that horse silhouette. I'm glad the brace works for Raven, and she is happy being able to walk everywhere. I had to laugh with the way Oscar wakes you up. Made me think of when I had my cat Michael. He would sleep with his head on my pillow, purring, with what sounded like an outboard motor roaring in my ear.
ReplyDeleteRain - thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment! I love pina coladas, especially when at the beach! The idea of rain barrels is a great one, if you get rain! We are in that long stretch without any precipitation. Good thing that the plants are adapted to it!
ReplyDeleteYou make beautiful art, the scratch art is really super beautiful..
ReplyDeleteIt's great that Raven can walk well again with the braces.
The food looks delicious again.
Greetings Irma
Rain,
ReplyDeleteI knew you were talented but just look at you painting while having a glass of wine and some finger foods. :) I still haven't done any thing with the black sketch pad and charcoals I brought a few years ago. Maybe later this fall when things settle down I can get those out to work with. Gee, I'm so disorganized! Your whale watercolor painting is really nice. Little Red Riding Hood looks cute. The French Quarter Potatoes look and sound yummy. I love potatoes! Hey you have music in this post! You're always welcome to hit the 4M dance floor with me anytime you want, girlie. If you have music to share then we want to hear it and boogie with you. ;) We're in mid-July, the summer is zipping away from us. You won't hear me complaining about that but I know you probably feel different. Have a boogietastic week, dearie!
What a joy to see your sweet Raven enjoying her walk again. Food looks yummy as usual. I agree with you (I think in the comments on the linked page) about anything with lots of cheese makes me happy! But we like cauliflower every way we've tried it! I've saved this whole post to look at the youtubes later when I'm on my IPAD. (I love the top photo with you creating art while enjoying that glass of red wine!. I can do the last part of that already, but it doesn't seem to make me any more artistic ;>)
ReplyDeleteOmgosh, so much in one post! Love your rain barrel! YES to that gorgeous pina colada and the potatoes look yum! Sorry so late, but the last time I posted before Thursday was Wednesday, lol. I don't have any scratch art, but I did dry emboss, which does scratch the paper in a way, heehee. And I shared a delicious dessert. Honey's now fixing something once a week at least so I'll have something to share! Have a great week! xoxo
ReplyDeletebeautiful paintings...
ReplyDeletelove owl....
Thank you for sharing video
I love that rain barrel. What a smart idea indeed. And the food looks yum. Your furry kids are awwwwdorable too, dear Rain.
ReplyDeleteThe sketches are interesting and inspiring.
