π¨For our π¨ Art Date π¨, today's optional prompt is Folklore! Please feel free to share any art you've created, we would love to see it! Granny is reading some Southern Folklore to Tweety Bird so that he can learn about his roots!
⬆️⬆️ Well, this doesn't really have to do with folklore, but I drew Dan Levy with charcoal pencils. He's the son of Canadian actor/comedian/writer/genius Eugene Levy. He has his dad's comic genes that's for sure! And the eyebrows! He wrote and starred in the really funny show Schitt's Creek. ☺
⬆️⬆️ Jack is doing okay, the meds he's taking are helping him to sleep and rest. He hasn't had a nose bleed in two weeks, I'm happy to report! I'm taking this day by day!
πFor our π Dinner Date π, I made some bunny pancakes using my recipe for French Crepes. This was so much fun! Nice for an Easter breakfast!
On the video front:
⬆️⬆️ For Rain Frances Art For Kids, I have How To Draw A Worm!
⬆️⬆️ For Rain's Kitchen and Garden, I'm sharing the Bunny Pancakes video!
⬆️⬆️ I'm also sharing a video about Tree Stratification. I bought some tree seeds last summer and I started them last week. I'll hopefully be planting 100 conifers on my land in the fall!

Love your portrait of Dan Levy, especially those big glasses! Glad Jack is feeling a little better these days.
ReplyDeleteThanks Debra! ♥
DeleteLove those Bunny pancakes and pleased that Jack is doing well. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteThanks EC! ♥ The bunny pancakes are so much fun to make!
DeleteYou really captured Dan Levy's expression
ReplyDeleteThanks Cloudia! ♥
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI love the Granny and Tweety sketch. Great portrait of Dan Levy! I like your cute bunny pancakes. Have a wonderful day!
Thanks Eileen! ♥
DeleteFun Tweety Sketch and wonderful portrait of Dan Levy, the pancakes look yum. Exciting to plant so many conifers, great for the environment.
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine! I'm excited to see how the little trees grow! ☺
DeleteRain,
ReplyDeleteAhhh, how sweet Granny is reading to Tweety! I hope she's not reading a spooky Southern Folklore tale to him. Your charcoal drawing is fabulous. I love your shading. You did a fab job capturing shadows beneath his glasses near his nose and his glasses look so dimensional. It makes me want to reach out to take them off his face. lol The detailing with his eyes...WOW! You did a great job! The bunny pancake is adorable. This is something kids would love. When ours were small, I would make bear faces for them. They loved it! Have a doodletastic day, my friend!
Thanks Cathy! ♥ Oooh bear faces in pancakes! I have so many ideas, once you have that squeeze bottle in hand, the designs are endless! Thanks so much for your comments about Dan Levy, I thought I did a pretty good job with the shading too! ♥♥
DeleteGood to hear that Jack is doing well, Rain.
ReplyDeleteThanks David! So far so good! ☺
DeleteSending good wishes Jack continues not to have nosebleeds and stays with you. And that bunny pancake looks not only yummy but fun. If I had kids or grandkids that would be a fun thing to make, but maybe I'll make some for myself for lunch. It's rainy today and I could use something sunny. Have a super rest of your week and weekend. And happy Easter too Rain. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika! ♥ I hope you got some sunshine. We all need it this time of year! The bunny pancakes were so much fun, I have to say I enjoyed the chocolate more than the pancakes though lol!
DeleteFun bunny pancakes. :)
ReplyDeleteTweety and Grannie so sweet.
And I love the portrait.

DeleteThat is lovely charcoal drawing Rain. The medium has a look no other one has.
ReplyDeleteThanks TB, I agree, I do love that medium! ☺
Delete...kids of all ages will love those pancakes. Thanks for hosting and have a Happy Easter.
ReplyDeleteI agree Tom! Thanks! ☺
DeleteI didn't know Tweety was from the South ... how did I miss that? Your portrait is amazing. Your portraits are getting better and better ... He could walk right off that page and not look any different. The only Canadian actor I know is Yanick Bison (not sure of the spelling) and he is absolutely awesome. I will have to see if we can get Schitt's Creek on streaming. It sounds like it would be fun. Jack is such an angel ... so cute and you take the best pictures of him. I made an Izzi book with some of my favorite pictures of her. I should send you a copy :) So I love pancakes and yours is so inviting ... I don't eat them often though for the obvious reasons, Ha! Be Happy Rain ... good times ahead :)
ReplyDeleteAndrea @ From The Sol
...........
I don't know if they are officially from the South, but Granny seems like a Southern Belle to me! ☺ I've heard of Yannick Bisson, but I've never seen any of his work! Good times ahead indeed Andrea! Thank you! ♥♥
DeleteDear Rain, your Dan Levy charcoal drawing is just great. And that Jack is doing better ❤️ and he didn't have a nosebleed anymore, I'm also very happy. It is good to take this day by day. Cute, your bunny pancakes and your drawing of Granny reading some Southern Folklore to Tweety Bird.
ReplyDeleteIs there be folklore in my post? I don't know - is snowshoeing folklore? My chains made of wood and metal are probably folklore pieces. And my skirt in the first outfit collage has some folklore elements in the pattern...
All the best from Austria and Happy Easter π£π°π₯
Hugs, Traude π

Traude, I am SO relieved that Jack hasn't had a nosebleed. I'm hoping it's because he's really doing better, but I will not really ever know, I'm thankful he seems to not be in pain though! Happy Easter!!! Oh you know the art prompt is optional! We love to see your posts!!! ♥♥
DeleteHi Rain, popping over whilst time allows to wish you all the best this Easter, check up on your fabulous art, such a treat to see your artistic creations. Sorry I can not get here often now, care duties are so demanding.
ReplyDeleteSending an extra cuddle to Jack, such a lovely boy. Thinking of you all this Easter.

DeleteBeautiful blog
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteOh my gosh, Rain. That shot of Jack. Saw your last video, glad he's not getting worse. Sending well wishes!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ivy! ♥♥ Me too, so far he's stable, fingers crossed it stays that way! ♥
DeleteFingers crossed, big time. We recently had Bug in the vet for another emergency. She's better now. It's sad when they get sick. A local friend of mine recently adopted a new pup. She had three and two passed, now she has two again. I think when we get land it will be nicer because then we get get those same booties you use on your pups and take ours for a winter walk.
DeleteThose booties are great. They really stay on, only thing is that Raven's nails rip through them once in a while! But still worth the cost. I've never replaced Jack's ever. Sorry to hear about Bug, but happy to hear she's doing better!
