Hello Friends! Great news, yesterday morning I walked by the live cage trap and look who I found!
I was so happy, elated...to say the least. We called the man from the SPCA and he brought him to the shelter, it's a no-kill shelter so he will be looked at by a vet and re-homed. Alex and I decided we couldn't keep him because we don't have the time to train him right now; plus him and Charlie didn't get along. What really makes me sad is that WE were the only ones to take action. He was lost for a week before we found out and nobody had called the SPCA...
One of the neighbours said that if he saw him, he was going to shoot him - I was beside myself with shock...lots of folks around here see dogs and cats as objects and it really sickens me.
His former owners abandoned him. Our neighbour's son took him in to help find him a new home, and that's when he wiggled out of his collar and ran away. After a few days the son gave up looking for him...The SPCA is known for finding all abandoned dogs and cats good homes and they screen rigidly. Even though my heart is sad for Trigger, I know he'll find a forever home.
That's so sad to be abandoned. Good for you to trap him. Good thing there are more people like yourselves than others.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad he has been found. All dogs deserve a loving, forever home, and it is wonderful that he is now on his way to having one.
ReplyDeleteGood news, and I'm sure that the SPCA will find him a good home.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Congrats on saving that dog's life! Wonderful news. Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteOhhh this is good news. Hope he gets a good home.
ReplyDeleteI hope the best for Trigger, he needs a break. So glad you were able to find him, his luck may be turning around!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you found him. That is wonderful news!
ReplyDeleteWay to go, you guys! I hope Trigger finds a new and loving home.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI am so glad Trigger was found. I hope he can be re-homed into a for-ever home. Take care, enjoy your weekend!
I am so glad he was found. Too bad you can't keep him. As long as he's safe that's the most important thing. Have a great weekend Rain :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad he will get a furever home. He is a beautiful boy. Sharpeis are wonderful dogs that need a little extra TLC because of their folds. Thinking of someone just shooting him makes my heart break.
ReplyDeleteThat' great news! you did all you can - not every stray can join your throng :) especially if they don't fit with the ones you already have. Whoever gets him will be able to invest the time he needs, good to know they don't pts and he will be safe now.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it against the law to shoot another person's pet? It is here in the US. I am so glad that you got Trigger before some idiot did. Keep a good body harness on him that he can't get out of so he doesn't get away from you. I just can't believe that some people are so mean.
ReplyDeleteI am so very glad to read this. And hope that he finds his furever home very soon.
ReplyDeleteAll praise to the SPCA and their workers world wide.
First of all it's great that you found him and it's a shame that he can't stay with you but if it doesn't work. I hope he gets a good home, he's really that cute!
ReplyDeleteGreeting Elke
Good news!!
ReplyDeleteI had to go back and catch up on "Trigger". So glad you were able to catch him and get him to the shelter before he got shot! I lost several dogs from people driving 60 + down our gravel road and one from our neighbor driving his tractor down my driveway. They don't slow down for animals at all....just run them right over or like your neighbors....shoot them. Those people are scary!
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures of the dogs...they are so cute!
You did well with your harvest considering! I can't believe you said you might not garden next year. I thought that was part of the reason you wanted your own land? You might have to change the name of your blog then. Do you have other plans? More of your art work? Take care!
I don't understand people just abandoning their pets to the wild. So glad you were the ones to find him. Let's hope Trigger now finds a safe home thanks to you guys.
ReplyDeleteGlad you found him! That's sad they someone would shoot him :( Breaks me heart. At least he'll get fed and taken care of and hopefully find a great home!!! Best outcome for him
ReplyDeleteGlad you found him and caught him. Now he's got a chance for a life.
ReplyDeleteI do hope he finds a good home. Stay safe, enjoy your week and thankyou for stopping by my blog last week.
ReplyDeleteThis must have absolutely made your day! Your week! Your month! (I think your year was made when you moved to your new home).
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, so glad you found him.
ReplyDeleteYou have such a kind heart. Talk about the being the right person, being in the right place at the right time. You sure deserve lots and lots of hugs, RO
ReplyDeleteMy heart hurts to hear that your neighbour would shoot him. How awful, Rain! Stuff like that makes me have sleepless nights. I'm so pleased he was caught and is now being cared for. I hope he finds a very loving home. Thank goodness you are there at this time to implement some loving and healthy energy!
ReplyDeleteHooray! I'm so glad you found him and not your neighbor! ~ Now he has a chance to find someone who will love him and train him properly. Well done :)
ReplyDeleteGood news, you have the trapped him and sent to SPCA. Horrible people that the shoot him.
ReplyDeleteYikes! Need a sign: Beware of neighbor! :)
ReplyDeleteWell done with Trigger. i am sure that someone will visit the shelter and adopt him without delay.
ReplyDeleteYou are so kind hearted!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you found him and not the crappy neighbor.
ReplyDeleteGood job. Well done in showing such kindness and compassion. If only the others.......
ReplyDelete...great neighbor!
ReplyDeleteGlad Tigger was found and wishing for a forever home for him soon ~

ReplyDeletea happy ending!! someone will fall in love with him and give him a forever home!!!
ReplyDeleteI am glad for the lost dog that you found him instead of the neighbour that would shoot him. Now the dog has a chance to be adopted into a good home. Hope he doesn't run away again.
ReplyDeleteThis is good news Rain, I hope he gets a good home.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on saving the dog's life.
Greetings Irma
I never could understand such people, who animals buy and abandoned they later. It's terrible. It's sad.
ReplyDeleteYou have the heart on the right place, we say here in Germany. Well done, Rain. Good luck, Trigger.
Have a wonderful week.
Hello Frances,
ReplyDeletewe happened to find a cat once in a trap like that.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. All the best!
ReplyDeleteHello, Rain! I scrolled down to learn about Trigger. I’m happy for both you and Trigger. He’ll have a new home helped by SPCA. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.
Yoko
Bless your heart. Unfortunately, my neighbors are the same as yours. When my dog, Bernie, went missing, I was beside myself because they shoot anything that moves out here. I am glad he will find a new and good home. So many people do not deserve dogs.
ReplyDeleteGood for you and Alex on finding Trigger, actually he rather found himself since he was caught in the cage. Hopefully, he will find a new home that will love and care for him as abandonment is not good for anyone. I hope that you do learn when and if Trigger is adopted.
ReplyDeleteOh my! I can't believe how people will shoot domestic animals. It's shocking. I'm glad Trigger was found and that he will be rehomed. May he find a good forever home.
ReplyDeleteYour SPCA sounds like good people and I'm glad he'll be re-homed at some point. Good for you for taking the initiative to find him. The trap was a great idea. I'm so glad he wasn't hurt by anyone.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand the kind of person who would shoot a dog rather than trying to help him. Thank God you found Tigger, Rain!
ReplyDeleteOh he looks like a sweet pup! So glad you found him instead of your crazy gun-happy neighbor. I can’t understand that persons thinking nor also how anyone could just abandon a pet.
ReplyDeleteDogs like Trigger really need people like you, who care. I'm sure they will find a good hoome for him. Thanks for caring!
ReplyDeleteGlad he was found. Fingers crossed for finding a forever home.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are good people, I am happy that you care for all the creatures!!
