  1. LOL... I don't know. I never pay any attention to Ground Hog's Day. :-)))))))))))

It's sunny here too today. So I am "in the same boat" as you are!

  2. That's what I hear. At least we know spring will come eventually. Lol

  3. No shadows here in Edmonton today! That's because it's -20 and snowing under a leaden sky.

  4. If you hadn't seen your shadow we would have only had a month and a half until spring.

  5. LOL Wisps of Words, stay warm in that sunshine!

  6. Yes Tpals, you're right, no ice age on the way just yet. :)

  7. I'm an Amazon woman Sandi, at least when the sun is angled the right way! :)

  8. Oh my gosh Debra, it's in the minus teens here, I can't handle it! Stay warm!!

  9. I know Gill, I take full blame for the long winter! :)

  10. Nooooo! Was it just me or did January feel like it was 131 days long? :) Lisa

  11. Hi Lisa, no, it wasn't just you!

  12. That is frightening! It's very sunny here today, so I'm not stepping outside until it gets dark. LOL

  13. Ha ha, I should have done the same Martha! :)

  14. Noooooo! Alberta's groundhog says early spring!

    ReplyDelete
  15. I think he's trying to pull a fast one on you guys in Alberta, I can't believe there would be an early spring, though...I'll eat my hat if I'm wrong! I'll have to cook a cake that looks like a hat lol! ;)

  16. where you live i don't think it makes a difference whether a shadow is seen or not!

  17. Ha ha! Go back in your hole for another six weeks? Actually, you wouldn't have it too bad, lots of happy pets, some cheese, some art... See you in six weeks! -Jenn

  18. Joyce, you're so right, but I have hope every year lol! :)

  19. Hi Jenn :) Seriously I do want to go into my hole for another 6 weeks lol, see you then! :)

  20. If it's ONLY 6 weeks, we are so lucky. This seems to be the longest and coldest and snowiest January ever. I try to stay warm by studying seed catalogues but my toes are frozen. When I have to go to the barn at night, I wish the goats could just come right into the house so I could milk right here ... I don't think I have ever felt the cold as much as this winter.

  21. It has been quite cold this year Nik, I agree. Last winter was long and we had a lot of snow, but the deep freeze temps are getting tiresome!

  22. I'd say your projections are correct, based on the weather down here in Appalachia. Never got above freezing yesterday, with a bitter wind. Today, freezing rain. 😞

  23. I'm still waiting for winter to hit. Not to brag, but we haven't even had one night below freezing here. This means we will be over run with bugs this year and I bet our summer is super long and super hot and dry. Not happy about thats idea.

  24. HAHA....well you are not a groundhog but yes, basically that is what Phil said also!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Hi Harry :) Yeah, the weather is so up and down lately, but I'm happy we aren't having freezing rain, that's when the power always goes off. I hope all is well!

  26. Hi Marsha :) Ick to the bugs. Ours are pretty bad from May to August...but I'm glad we have a break from them for most of the year.

    ReplyDelete
  27. LOL Pam, I read that Phil saw his shadow too!

  28. lol. I pay no attention to the little groundhog. Or the tall Amazon woman, either. Winter must be nearly over. I'm sure of it. If I keep saying it, it's sure to come to pass. Sooner or later...

    ReplyDelete
  29. LOL Becki! Yes, keep saying it! :) I think later rather then sooner though ;)

    ReplyDelete
  30. LOL! I always get confused by the whole thing! Hugs...RO

  31. Phew! As soon as I saw Uh oh, I thought you'd had an accident! You take care and if you have to hibernate a bit to get through it, then that's what you have to do.xxx

    ReplyDelete
  32. You are too funny! LOL! This is great! LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  33. That's okay RO, it really makes no difference, winter here is until May! Aack!

  34. Oh Yarrow, that's true, every time you visit me I seem to have an injury lol...not this time!!! :)

  35. Glad you enjoyed it Magic Love Crow :)

  36. you look smart and appealing through your shadow in a beautiful sunny day
    happy sunny day dear Rain!

  37. Hi Rain, we have no snow here. It’s not often that we see any. We do get it - just not very often. I hope you’re doing well.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Hi Terry :) All is well here, just keeping warm and avoiding going outside in the storm today! Hope all is well with you too!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Does that whole groundhog thing really work? We're having low 70's this coming week and it's been high 60's here all week.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Hi Stefanie :) I don't think the modern groundhog day thing is of any value! It has more to do with the weather. The weather lore says that if the midway point between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox is fair (sunny day...i.e. seeing a shadow)...then there would be two winters that year...meaning it would last another month and a half. So you don't really need a groundhog to do weather predictions! :)

  41. All is well. That carrot cake looks nice, Rain. Not for me nor though, the chicken. If we were married I guess i’d go hungry a lot of the time. That is, unless you did. 🙀 Because you’re Canadian i’d Probably give in. The food always looks good. Sometimes my longing for it lets me down.

  42. You are so right! Why do we have to wait for a ground hog to see his shadow? Just so you know the daffodils are up here about 3 inches so it will be coming to a neighborhood near you...eventually!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Oh I'm envious of your daffodils Sam!!! :)
