Thursday Art Date: Cracks and Crevices

Hello Friends! 😊😊

Welcome to Thursday's Art Date, today our theme is Cracks and Crevices. Daffy Duck thinks he's very close to cracking the case of the missing carrots!! Let's wish him luck! πŸ°

We have internet!! We got connected Tuesday evening, but I honestly haven't had much of a chance to go online. We are still living in boxes and trying to do little repairs while unpacking. I managed to unpack all of my art supplies, but it will be another week or so before I can relax, sit quietly and CREATE!

Summer has arrived. Our weather is hot and humid, but nice and cool in the evenings. We had a problem with our rented water heater for the last week and NB Power finally arrived yesterday to fix it, but it took hours! No water and 35 Celcius weather doesn't make for a happy Rain!! πŸ˜’ But everything is fixed now.

That's all for now folks! Thanks for visiting! Please check out the link widget below to see more Cracks and Crevices artwork! And why not join in? 😊

PS: Do you hate the new Blogger interface as much as I do???? I really hate change, I don't adapt well with technology!!

A lot of my dreams/nightmares involve me being alone in the woods at night as the tree limbs come alive and try to grab me! This is a photo I took in the woods, it reminded me a lot of those dreams!

  2. Nice piece with Daffy! So glad you have internet, that's great. Things are slowly progressing. I don't like the new interface at all, not my cup of coffee! Crack on with your unpacking, take it slowly, and don't crack under the strain! Look after yourselves! Hugs, Valerie

  3. That's a clever interpretation of the theme, Rain. I would never have considered that interpretation.

  4. Hello rain
It's great that you have the Internet, step by step it goes on, it takes time!
Everything should be more modern but whether it is better is the question with the blog version!
Great your drawn duck looking for all the cracks and crevices.
Make sure to give away the boxes and also rest
    Greetings Elke

  5. HOORAY for having the internet back.
I am glad that you are pacing yourself - but also really looking forward to seeing your creations in the fullness of time.
I am yet to brave the blogger interface. I may testdrive it later this week. Sadly I believe they aren't giving us any choice.

  6. Rain, Trees trying to grab you, huh/ Have I got an art piece for you! It ended up being the cover art work for one of my novels.

  7. I'm still using the old blogger, but they sent me a message they will update it and change it in June. ugh. Glad to hear you have internet again.

  8. There are always some problems when moving in, but I am glad to read that you got them solved, although timd without hot water is difficult.

  9. I'm so glad you have internet now. But ughhh, how awful to not have water on days like these. But one day soon you'll have things sorted and you'll be able to settle in and start making new memories! -Jenn

  10. Yes, I hate change. You, especially, don't need change!
I hope you get things resolved soon!
    I've been thinking about you!

  11. Wonderful about the internet access! Always stuff to iron out at the start of a move. But things will settle down and you'll enjoy your beautiful new space!

  12. love your Daffy detective. :) He is obviously on to something.

I hope you are well over there and getting a bit settled. :)

    Take care, stay safe.

  13. not sure if blogger has changed the interface? But windows made an update and changed a lot on my computer. Even it ide reset my photoshop. :(

  14. I'm waiting to use the new Blogger interface until the end of June when it is forced on everyone.

  15. I am glad you have internet now. I could not do without mine, that's for sure.

  16. I don't hate change, but I don't do it well. The new blogger already has me confused ... are you on the new blogger now? Yikes ... it says the old way will still be available. I will have to figure out if there are any advantages to the new blogger before I try it. I may be calling on you for help :( So I read about your good luck and bad luck ... moves can be difficult, but you were certainly blessed with the good choices you made and now you have friends who will be there for you. I think it is wonderful that you have found a place where people haven't lost their values.

I love Daffy's serious face ... he really is intent on finding the culprit (cracking the case). You always do a great job with your cartoon characters ... you should do some freelance for Disney :) And, your creepy tree does look like it has arms ... ugh! I wouldn't want to run into him at night :0
Sorry about your garden ... maybe you could do some pot planting for the "must haves". This whole year with Covid19 is going to be a bust ... Just bide your time and all will be well. Stay safe my friend ...

  18. The interface is not great, no. And I see we are all migrating (like it or not) in June.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Glad you're making progress! Hot water is always a great thing. I saw the note to about the new blogger but it's free so what can you do? I suspect long-term they may be going toward fee usage but that is just a guess

  20. I love the tree! think it needs hugging, I'm a tree hugger :)
Managing without water must have been unpleasant in those temperatures, you are really going through an exciting and challenging time in your new home. Hope you have time to create plenty as that is what makes a home of course, creative activity and vibes.

  21. Hope your unpacking goes smoothly so you can get back to art soon. Your Daffy Holmes is onto something!

  22. That tree is amazing. Hope you are taking some time for yourself as you settle into your new place.

  23. So glad, Rain, to read that you have Internet now which will make it so much easier to communicate. The branches on that tree did look as if they could grab something, hopefully not you! Sorry to read about the latest house mishap but glad it got sorted out OK.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Oh, I am sorry you have nightmares.
So glad you got your water heater fixed! We realize how much we use it when it is gone.
Congrats on getting internet. But no worries about stopping by. Wait until you have time to relax and wander around blogs.

    I like your tree.

    ReplyDelete
  25. LOL on that tree likeness. I'm glad you are settling in even though it's slow with bumps in the road.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Thanks Christine! I've found a bit of downtime! :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Thanks Valerie :) We are slowing down for sure. At first we just wanted to make sure the house could function so we had lots to do, now that it's functioning, we can concentrate on slowly making it a pleasure to live in! :) And yes, that new interface...I tried to update a post and it wouldn't let me. I hope they fix it all up so at least it works properly if we're going to be forced to use it.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Thanks Elizabeth :) But I don't think Daffy will catch Bugs! :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Thanks Elke :) I agree that things should be modern AS LONG as they are better!! So far I haven't seen how the new interface is better, it just looks different and there are errors with it. Let's hope that Blogger gets it all fixed for us.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Thanks Elephant's Child! :) It's funny, having no internet wasn't such a big deal for me, but I did miss commenting and reading blogs. I am very happy we have it again now though! Just looking up a recipe is so much easier. I guess we will all have to get used to the new interface, sigh.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Thanks Laurie :) Yes, we're settling in okay! We do have lots of bumps but they are OUR bumps now! :) So we're pretty grateful! :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hi Jo :) I'm looking forward to your post next week! Trees trying to grab me yes, I dream about that a lot!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Thanks Kristina :) I'm very happy to be online again. Yeah, that new interface...why can't they just leave things alone???

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hi Arleen :) Every day there is a new problem here but so far we're finding ways to fix them so it's okay. No water on a hot day is a challenge, but we're rolling with it!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Thanks Jenn :) It's nice to be back online, though this connection is a wee bit slower in the country than in that little village where we lived. I'm not complaining though! We are already making so many memories here, taking lots of photos and enjoying every moment! What a thrill! :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. Thanks Jenn (Jilks) :)) I really don't like that new interface, but I hate all change when it comes to technology. Honestly if I could still use Windows 98 I'd be a happy gal lol! :)

    ReplyDelete
  37. Thanks Martha :)) We have lots of ironing out, but it's a wonderful journey!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. Thanks Monica :) Daffy THINKS he's onto something, but I think that Bugs will not allow himself to be caught, just my intuition! ;) We are slowly settling, but we have so much to do still! Oh gosh resetting your photoshop must be such a pain in the butt! I HATE those automatic updates, I actually have them shut off, which probably isn't such a good idea lol!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Debra, I hope they fix the glitches by then. So far I've seen a few errors and it's very frustrating.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Thanks Gigi, I feel the same way! :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. Hi Andrea :) No I'm not on the new Blogger, I can't stand it. I tried it once, but I couldn't update a post so I gave up and went back to the old one. I hope they keep the option to use the old one FOREVER and not just temporarily. You can totally call on me for help, if I can give it lol...I really don't do tech change very well. Thanks, Daffy is so easy to draw when he's angry and intense, lol...but I think his detective work will come up empty, just a hunch! ;) I think I may have some kind of garden after all...I'm trying to figure out if my yard has good enough soil...it may be too gravelly but I'll keep you updated!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. Thanks so much Sandy! :) It's so nice to be back online.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Like it or not TB...NOT...well, you're right, we will have to get used to it right?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Hi Nancy :) I think you might be onto something about Blogger. I guess we need to count our blessings that we have a free platform for now! I love hot water and I love my plumbing lol...it's hard to be without it, but we have it all set up again now, so I'm happy about that!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Thanks Betty :) I fear if you hugged that tree, you may be in for a surprise, he didn't look too friendly lol...Despite the challenges, we are really having a great time in our first home! And btw, I think you mentioned in a previous comment about cleansing the house. I plan to do that very soon. I don't feel negativity in here, but there may be some underlying energy that will be best to get out!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Thanks Soma :) Daffy is trying his best lol! :)

    ReplyDelete
  47. Thanks Nicole :) Yes, we are trying to make sure we relax every evening, even if things seem pressing. It's important to be balanced, but it's challenging because we want to get it all done NOW. :)

    ReplyDelete
  48. Thanks Dorothy :)) Whatever mishap happens, there has been a solution thus far, I hope it stays that way! I received your email, thank you so much. I WILL reply, keep an eye out! :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Thanks Tammie :) I do love hot water and I'm very happy it's fixed. We went without it for 3 days when we first moved here and that was a challenge alright! :) Cold showers brrrr.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Thanks Stefanie :) That tree would be a scary thing at night!! :) Yeah, things are slowly getting settled, but there's a lot of work to do here still. We're enjoying each step of the way! :)

    ReplyDelete
  51. Rain,

I'm confident Daffy will solve this mystery soon enough. ;) Great artwork, my friend. I'm on a long summer hiatus but will add art when time permits. Take care, dearie!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Thanks Cathy :)) I hope you have a lovely summer hiatus!! :)

  53. I loved your play on words with Daffy Ducky cracking a case, Rain. And the wanted poster that he is carrying. I'm glad that you have internet and hot water ~ both necessities in this day and age. I dislike the new blogger interface, but I'm forcing myself to use it. It arrived right in the middle of a post I was doing for the IWSG anthology. I was having problems formatting, and lost repeatedly, hours of work I had done trying to format the thing. Eventually I got it up. I hate muggy weather, but it always makes the cool evenings seem heavenly. Take care, my friend!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Thanks Louise :)) Yeah, I'm trying to force myself to use the new interface too...but I'm too stubborn to give it a real go lol...I'm afraid of losing things too!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Hi Rain, so good to see you are now in your happy space just take your time getting settled and enjoy it, what a magical place it looks the air must be so clean being surrounded by all those trees.
Yes I am hating the new blogger, it's caused me so many problems over the past week along with bad updates, felt like throwing the towel in quite a few times but.. i'll try and keep going!! Looking forward to seeing lots of lovely art when your studio is all set up, i'm so excited for you.
Take care & stay safe, tummy tickles to the animals hugs Tracey xx

    ReplyDelete
  56. Thanks Tracey :) The air here is very clean, it's so nice with all of the trees around us. Green everywhere now, I love it! I am forcing myself to use the new blogger...they fixed a few things already from last week so I have hope lol! :)

    ReplyDelete
  57. Hoping that you are still enjoying art class during the move and getting settled in. Its a lot to do when you move. I will never get things set the way I want it, this body was lucky to make it through the move! So happy for you though.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Thanks Pam :) The move was tough on my body too. The work has just begun but it's all so exciting! Regarding your previous comment, it's funny, I was thinking about making a few wheels of cheese for all of those nice people who helped us!! :) I'll email you my new address! :)

    ReplyDelete
  59. Glad you have internet, Rain! So we're going to be forced to accept a new update? I rarely experience digital updates as improvements. Generally, they are setbacks that I just eventually get over...

    ReplyDelete
  60. i loved daffy :) cute painting!

good to know that you are settling down slowly ,my best wishes are with you dear Rain :)

branch image is captured so beautifully
when we would sleep in yard back in my native village we had many tree close and each time i would look at waving branches they seemed so kind and so friendly just like true loved ones
    i miss them

    ReplyDelete
  61. Thanks Becki :) I'm so glad to have internet too. Using my phone was horrible! Yeah, the update...they say the old blogger will still be available, but I'm sure it'll just poof! disappear one day. I've been forcing myself to use the new interface, it's okay, just annoying in certain ways because I have to look for things that were easier to find before. And the photos take forever to load now.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Thanks Baili :) We're settling down slowly! :) I see the trees outside my window and they all look friendly! Except for a few that seem to be up to something lol! :)
