A big week just passed. The roofers came back to fix the roof issues, so I can finally say I have a proper tin roof installed, relief. I'm prepping video ideas for my YouTube channels, I think December's videos will be a lot of fun! And it was monthly shopping a few days ago, so I'm worn out and recovering from that. I need a few breakfast in bed days to recover! 😫 All is well here! Jack and Raven are making the most of feeling cozy and comfy during our chilly weather! We had a wee bit of snow, but it all melted. (yay!)
😋For our 😋 Dinner Date 😋, I made a very comforting French Onion Soup Au Gratin. It was so delicious with broiled Jarslberg cheese on top of my homemade toasted bread! I'll be making a video and sharing the recipe in the new year!
I also had some pizza...go figure! 😁
My bread baking series continues, this week I made Brown Sugar Raisin Bread! I can't even describe how delicious this tasted - and how my house smells these days! Home baking fragrance - I should bottle it and sell it!!! 😋😋

Pizza looks amazing.
Wanted to tell you that I'm working on better knowing what our suppers will be ahead of time. I'm starting there because often Frankenberry takes leftovers to work.
I had tonight ready, tomorrow is started and Friday it's pizza night. I am not baking breads and dough yet, the kitchen doesn't allow that quite yet but soon!!!!

I haven't made French Onion soup in ages so I should! I always use Gruyère cheese and it works well. It's a wonderful dish for a cold winter's day.

Oh, Porky has the perfect figure to be a Santa and your Gnomes are adorable. My FH loves the Gnomes so I will follow your video and make him some for Christmas. The food ... oh my, Onion soup is a favorite with both my FH and I but we always get it in a restaurant. I am thinking Gruyere is what they usually use. I may have to try making my own soup now that I have a good recipe to follow :) Good that your fur babies are all tucked in. We are in below freezing weather already and just thinking about going outside makes me cold. And if you figure out a way to bottle the smells from your kitchen, I will be the first in line to buy it :) I am glad you are getting all your house issues under control ... it will make for a warm, cozy winter. Sandi, thank you! I wanted to open a little bistro when I was in my 20's but I don't think I could have handled the stress! I worked in restaurants during University years and it was too stressful for me! ♥
ReplyDeleteTo those who mentioned it, yes, Gruyère is the traditional cheese used for French Onion Soup. I didn't have any and Jarlsberg made a nice mild substitute! ☺☺

So good that you have a tin roof on but I hope you also have some insulation up there as it must be very difficult to keep warm in your part of the World. Your raisin bread looked nice :) Betty

ReplyDeleteThose pups are so sweet. They really 'make' your life, don't they? Great minds think alike. I made baked French onion soup mid week also. It was SOOOO good and even better the second day. I heated the soup up in the microwave and then put the bread and cheese on and stuck it in the air fryer! It was PERFECT! I will never use the broiler again to do that! lol. xo Diana
