A big week just passed. The roofers came back to fix the roof issues, so I can finally say I have a proper tin roof installed, relief. I'm prepping video ideas for my YouTube channels, I think December's videos will be a lot of fun! And it was monthly shopping a few days ago, so I'm worn out and recovering from that. I need a few breakfast in bed days to recover! π« All is well here! Jack and Raven are making the most of feeling cozy and comfy during our chilly weather! We had a wee bit of snow, but it all melted. (yay!)
πFor our π Dinner Date π, I made a very comforting French Onion Soup Au Gratin. It was so delicious with broiled Jarslberg cheese on top of my homemade toasted bread! I'll be making a video and sharing the recipe in the new year!
My bread baking series continues, this week I made Brown Sugar Raisin Bread! I can't even describe how delicious this tasted - and how my house smells these days! Home baking fragrance - I should bottle it and sell it!!! ππ

That soup looks really good! Love your art!!
ReplyDeleteI love how our pups are right there. When I'm trapped on the big bean bag chair, Wiggy and Bug are all for it.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the gnomes. LOVE them.
Pizza looks amazing.
Wanted to tell you that I'm working on better knowing what our suppers will be ahead of time. I'm starting there because often Frankenberry takes leftovers to work.
I had tonight ready, tomorrow is started and Friday it's pizza night. I am not baking breads and dough yet, the kitchen doesn't allow that quite yet but soon!!!!
I love that you have your shopping done ahead like that. You're a big inspiration to me. Much, much thanks with a side of huggs.
The Holiday Gnomes are supercute!
ReplyDeleteAnd ohhh, the French Onion Soup Au Gratin... hmmm, looks so good and comforting.
I am smiling and drooling. Which is completely standard for me when I read your posts.
ReplyDeleteI can understand your relief about having a tin roof now. The dogs look so cozy, they're probably happy as well. Your food looks delicious, that French onion soup is just the ticket for chilly days. Your gnomes are super cute!
ReplyDeletelove your Santas. In Sweden we call them Tomte :)
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI am glad your roof is fixed and your sweet dogs are doing well.
Cute image of Porky Pig as Santa. Your Soup, pizza and the bread all look delicious. Take care, enjoy your day and have a happy weekend ahead.
I haven't made French Onion soup in ages so I should! I always use Gruyère cheese and it works well. It's a wonderful dish for a cold winter's day.
ReplyDeleteyou sure have been busy! that onion soup looks wonderful. i could eat that for breakfast right now! the olive pizza too!
ReplyDeleteYour post has made me very hungry this morning Rain. It all looks so yummy. Happy December to you. I love that it is a month to stay in, bake, read, make art and just be cozy. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteHappy Thursday. Wow those rum ball look yummy
ReplyDeleteMuchπlove
Oh, Porky has the perfect figure to be a Santa and your Gnomes are adorable. My FH loves the Gnomes so I will follow your video and make him some for Christmas. The food ... oh my, Onion soup is a favorite with both my FH and I but we always get it in a restaurant. I am thinking Gruyere is what they usually use. I may have to try making my own soup now that I have a good recipe to follow :) Good that your fur babies are all tucked in. We are in below freezing weather already and just thinking about going outside makes me cold. And if you figure out a way to bottle the smells from your kitchen, I will be the first in line to buy it :) I am glad you are getting all your house issues under control ... it will make for a warm, cozy winter. Stay well, my friend ...

Love today's art and food and so happy about the roof!
ReplyDeleteThose holiday gnomes are TOO cute, Rain!
ReplyDeleteSweet puppies!
ReplyDeleteThe food...yum...Have you ever thought of opening a restaurant?
Sandi, thank you! I wanted to open a little bistro when I was in my 20's but I don't think I could have handled the stress! I worked in restaurants during University years and it was too stressful for me! ♥
ReplyDeleteTo those who mentioned it, yes, GruyΓ¨re is the traditional cheese used for French Onion Soup. I didn't have any and Jarlsberg made a nice mild substitute! ☺☺
Hi Rain, I'm laid up with a chest infection so not creating any art just now but enjoyed seeing yours :) I especially like seeing pics of your pets, I love Jack, he's my favourite. So good that you have a tin roof on but I hope you also have some insulation up there as it must be very difficult to keep warm in your part of the World. Your raisin bread looked nice :) Betty
ReplyDeleteI love hanging out with you. Rain
ReplyDeleteFrench Onion Soup, pizza and raisin bread are all favorites of mine! Thanks Rain for hosting the party.
ReplyDeleteLate as usual, but I'm in!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks fantastic! I'm going to have to try some of your recipes, Rain.
Finally, I mananged to sit down and sketch. It's been a time fighting this gun club.
ReplyDeleteThe gnomes are very fetching Rain.
ReplyDeleteGlad the roof is done - house repairs always seem to take a lot longer than one thinks they well (and inevitably, more expensive).
Hi, Rain! I've resurfaced. I have a bell post. Your post was a delight, and I dearly love seeing photos of Jack and Ravin. Porky Pig is such fun, as are the Holiday Gnomes. One of these days, soon I hope, I'll get back to my normal self. I'm getting closer. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI just love the sight of that French Onion Soup. I haven't had that in years. Just love it.
ReplyDeleteYes, Rain, a soup in this cold time is the best what we can eat. We love soups.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend. By the way. I have send you a letter ... please let me know, if you get access.
Due to meds I can't have pizza till Sunday and boy, seeing yours, I want it NOW!
ReplyDeleteOh no Jeanie!!! You can make it until Sunday!!! ♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteI do like the Holiday Gnomes.
ReplyDeleteSoup looks delicious.
That's good that the roof is done.
Have a good weekend and a happy week ahead.
All the best Jan
Hi Rain, loads of interesting stuff in your post, but I confess I canNOT get past drooling and coveting that soup. Oh man, french onion soup is one of my faves. Rum balls, too! Have a good week, xoxo
ReplyDeleteThose pups are so sweet. They really 'make' your life, don't they? Great minds think alike. I made baked French onion soup mid week also. It was SOOOO good and even better the second day. I heated the soup up in the microwave and then put the bread and cheese on and stuck it in the air fryer! It was PERFECT! I will never use the broiler again to do that! lol. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteAir fryer Diana??? Very cool! I have an air fryer on my wish list!!! ☺
ReplyDeletePorky pig makes a lovely Santa.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
